Standard VDI 3812 "Automation functions for residential buildings"

In the new VDI 3812 workgroup, the industry is developing a modular system of automation functions, from which thousands of frequently built living space types can be compiled in planning. This means that complete equipment concepts can be generated from simple checklists in just a few minutes.

Smart Systems Hub

On 10 January 2017, Saxony's Prime Minister, Stanislaw Tillich, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Martin Dulig, announced at a press conference the support of Sachsen in the realization of the hub concept for the formation of a competence and innovation center. The goal is that Dresden will become one of twelve planned digital hubs in Germany with the topic "Smart Systems Hub - Enabling IoT" (Internet of Things).

Construction Research Centre

The Construction Research Centre at the TU Dresden as an interdisciplinary scientific institution was founded last year. On 11 April 2017 a tour of the Construction Research Centre was carried out for the guests of the Center for Energy Efficient Buildings Prague (UCEEB) and other interested parties.

50 years of computer science in Dresden

Matthias Lehmann at the exhibitionWith Darmstadt, Karlsruhe, Munich and Saarbrücken, Dresden is one of the locations where the first university computer science study courses were established in Germany in 1969. This date marks the 50th anniversary of 2019, because at the TU Dresden the information processing section was founded on 1 January 1969. On September 1 of the same year, the first year began his studies. Informatics education is the foundation for a successful future - digitizing the opportunity for regional growth. With five decades of research and teaching experience, the TU Dresden is shaping IT specialists for the growing demand for skilled workers in Saxony.

13th Silicon Saxony Day

Silicon Saxony DayOn 29 May 2018 the 13th Silicon Saxony Day took place. This Silicon Saxony Day was all about "Smart System Hubs".

The topic was HARDWARE.SOFTWARE.CONNECTIVITY. A key topic was the interoperability of networked sensors, controllers and actuators. The professorship for Technical Information Systems is a member of the Silicon Saxony Network and has actively helped shape the 13th Silicon Saxony Day.
